Web2.0 Training and Exchange Workshop- Tanoa International Hotel, Nadi, Fiji

Introduction
The Agriculture Rural Development and Youth in the Information Society (ARDYIS): Web 2.0 Training and Exchange Workshop for the Pacific, 2013 was the first of which Pacific Islanders are train to use media blogging as a tool/ mechanism to target Youth Participation in the sector of Agriculture.

The training was organized by the Secretariat of the South Pacific Community (SPC) to coordinate members from the pacific region in a week training of using social media and to go back to home countries and train youth members who involve in agriculture which can blog about the effectiveness of agriculture and other useful methods developed. The Vanuatu team have also been part of the delegation to the Web2.0 training and has been an initiative to join the other pacific participants.

The Vanuatu team has been selected from different sectors of its departments and organizations. There is a representative from the department of Livestock and Quarantine, the World Vision division and the SPC-GIZ Climate Change Adaptation Program. It is an excellent and privilege for us to be part of this training withheld overcome our goals and objectives and the need to involve young farmers in the field of agriculture and use this social web tool to strengthen networks and capacity building within the country.
In  fact, a lot of systematic tools have been issued and used within the country to disseminated agriculture information people concern and especially farmers in rural areas but still not useful as this Web 2.0 tool. This is an innovative solution to pull out young youths from their cultural perspective and attract them with useful stories, ideas and methodologies in agriculture.

Objective
The overall objective of this training is to train pacific islanders to be trainers when they get back to their home country and set priorities of their target youth group and train existing Youth groups, organization, government counterparts and interested farmers to use social media as source of exchange of ideas and share information of the different initiatives in the agriculture sector as most significant ...
